Aim: To have an overview of ophthalmology problems which may present to primary care

LO:

1. To recognise sight and life-threatening ophthalmology emergencies which may present to primary care
2. To review some cases referred to eye casualty by GP
3. To identify how eye disease can impact our patients with wide socio-economic consequences and review community sources of support eg blue-badge scheme.

Ms Guzaliya Safiullina
Consultant Ophthalmologist

Ms Guzaliya Safiullina is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon with a specialist interest in cataract and retinal surgery.

She performs surgery to treat retinal detachment, macular hole, epiretinal membrane, vitreous floaters and diabetic retinopathy. She offers cataract surgery with premium toric and multifocal lenses.

Ms Safiullina is a substantive consultant ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon post at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
