We are thrilled to be able to return to F2F teaching at the Winfield after so many months. Join us at 7pm for a lovely hot meal with our speaker Mr Ferris, network with your colleagues followed by the session on paediatric eye problems which will start at 7.30pm.

1. To evaluate the relevant advice to GPs for assessing congenital eye problems (e.g. at the routine neonatal check)
2. To explain current thinking in the primary care management of infant and childhood eye problems

About the speaker

Mr John Ferris
Mr Ferris qualified from Bristol in 1989 and carried out his ophthalmology training at the Western Eye Hospital London, Addenbrookes Hospital Cambridge, Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne, Great Ormond Street Hospital London and Moorfields Eye Hospital London. He has been the Head of Ophthalmology Training in the Severn Deanery and a member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists Training Committee since 2010. \r\n\r\nHe designed the Simulated Ocular Surgery website, which has been instrumental in changing how ophthalmic surgery is taught around the world. He also designed the award winning Squint Clinic website. He is the author of three ophthalmology textbooks and has been an invited speaker at 10 International Eye Surgery meetings over the last 5 years. \r\n\r\nIn 2009 he was awarded a Bronze National Clinical Excellence award for his contribution to ophthalmology and surgical training in the UK.
