About the speaker

Dr Sally Thrower
Consultant Endocrinologist, Diabetologist and General Physician

Dr Sally Thrower has been a Consultant Endocrinologist, Diabetologist and General Physician at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust since November 2015. She studied medicine at the University of Nottingham, graduating in 2002 with a first-class Bachelor of Medical Science honours degree (BMedSci Hons) and a Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery degree with Honours (BMBS Hons). She completed her postgraduate medical training in Severn Deanery, including undertaking a research degree (MD) in the field of immunotherapy for type 1 diabetes, at the University of Bristol. Dr Thrower is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP UK).



Dr Thrower has particular interests in insulin pump therapy and diabetes technologies, autoimmune endocrine disorders and antenatal endocrine and diabetes care. Her interest in antenatal care often results in women with gynaecological endocrine issues gravitating towards her general endocrine clinic….
